Tottenham remain ‘in the front row’ for striker Albert Gudmundsson, although he still prefers to stay in Serie A.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the striker remains an option for Tottenham as Inter Milan fail to push a deal over the line.

The newspaper explains that Inter are thinking of Gudmundsson to strengthen their attack the summer and the Icelandic international is open to the move but that’s yet to lead to a deal being struck.

There are several obstacles for Inter to overcome, with Genoa’s €35m asking price currently too high for Inter and them needing to move players on before they can push forward.

That’s given the competition a chance to get the striker, with Roma, Juventus and Napoli all in the mix and keeping themselves informed on his situation.

Then there is interest from the Premier League and Tottenham, who are ‘in the front row’ for the striker at this moment in time.

Tottenham’s interest in him has been well established over the last few months as they look to strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s squad this summer and add the striker that it is currently lacking.

They’re in the background of the player’s mind at present as he waits for Inter, but he cannot wait forever and there will be a moment where he starts to listen to other offers.

It may, then, be a case of Tottenham biding their time and waiting for their chance, but they’re still in the mix, nonetheless.
