Earlier on Monday, it was explained that Tottenham were very close to reaching an agreement with Galatasaray over the transfer of Davinson Sánchez.

It was said that Daniel Levy and co. were very close to agreeing a fee of around €8m, with the Turkish side wanting to pay that in instalments.

Well, the latest update from Turkey regarding the Tottenham exit has come from Sports Digitale journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who took to Twitter to reveal the news.

He claims that Galatasaray and Spurs have ‘reached an agreement’ for the transfer of the Colombian defender for a fee of €9m.

Considering the two clubs were very close at €8m last night and this morning, the fact they have agreed for just €1m falls in line with our suggestion Daniel Levy was trying to squeeze as much as possible for the player.

With that in place, and previous claims the defender had already agreed personal terms, this deal is very close to being done, with it widely expected to be done by the end of the day, in time for Galatasaray to register him in their Champions League squad.
