On May 19th, L’Equipe reported Tottenham Hotspur are ‘best positioned’ to sign Tanguy Ndombele and the Lyon star ‘seems excited’ about the possibility of joining them.
France Football explained on Monday that Paris Saint-Germain look the front runner for the midfielder’s signature, but the Ligue 1 side’s president Jean-Michel Aulas is aware the France international has ‘caught the eye’ of Manchester City.
Even though the player signed a new five-year deal with his current employer in September 2018, L’Equipe claim his club will allow him to leave in the summer transfer window.
In today’s edition of the French newspaper, there is no suggestion of PSG or City, while Tottenham once again get a mention along with Juventus. It’s stated the two clubs have made a ‘first offer’ for the 22-year-old.
The report does not provide the details of the proposals made by the north London club and the Serie A winners.
So far, the offers arrived are nowhere close to the fee desired by the leaders of the French side as Lyon are demanding €80-€100m for Ndombele.
Tottenham, and others, will likely think that request is too high.
