Tottenham Hotspur have, according to claims, made three bids for Vincent Janssen, and had all of those bids rejected by AZ.
Claims of PSG being in advanced negotiations for the player are either true, and a blow to Spurs, plucked from thin air, or an attempt to put the Premier League club under some pressure to meet AZ’s requirements.
Meanwhile, Janssen isn’t the only striker Tottenham are being linked to. French newspaper L’Equipe link the club to Michy Batshuayi on Saturday, saying Spurs are one of a number of sides who want the player.
It’s no secret that Marseille are looking to sell Batshuayi for a big fee, to help calm their panicky financial situation, and L’Equipe reiterate a sale could happen soon.
Marseille’s financial situation should be sorted out before the end of the month… giving just 5 days. However, Batshuayi is at Euro 2016 and unless Belgium get knocked out soon, an actual move may have to wait a little longer.
Marseille’s financial problems are clear leverage for Tottenham and deal king Daniel Levy, and also other interested clubs.
