As soon as the Italian media started being sure that Antonio Conte would take charge of Tottenham Hotspur, the rumours about who he’d sign for Spurs started coming out.
Players with whom the manager won Serie A with Inter Milan last season were the first to be linked with a move to London, with special attention to Marcelo Brozovic, whose contract with the Nerazzurri expires in the summer.
And even though Tottenham are said to have many other targets in Serie A, it’s really the midfielder’s name which continues being taken more seriously in local reports. An example of that are the comments made on CMIT TV today.
Journalist Fabrizio Biasin claims that despite Spurs’ need for new signings, Inter Milan won’t let their players leave for cheap, as Brozovic may be the only to get an easy exit.
“I think Conte has some ideas about some Inter players,” Biasin told CMIT TV.
“However, Tottenham are a club in debt. The only possibility is Brozovic on expiry, but the others are not leaving.”
The latest reports from Italy have been claiming that Inter Milan are struggling to reach a deal for Brozovic’s renewal. While the midfielder doesn’t accept their offers, PSG and Tottenham have been the clubs monitoring the situation.
