If Keylor Navas once more escapes being replaced this summer then Real Madrid probably need to fully shelve their plans to sign a new goalkeeper, and work out whether the current one has superpowers.
Almost replaced by David De Gea in one of the biggest ever transfer sagas, Navas escaped thanks to late paperwork arriving from Manchester United.
There’s since been a string of possible transfer but the Costa Rican remains Madrid’s goalkeeper and he’s been doing the job well.
It was expected that Thibaut Courtois would have arrived at Real Madrid by now, with the transfer reported as imminent several weeks ago.
Marca today report there’s a possibility it won’t happen, because Chelsea haven’t brought a replacement in yet.
‘Time is running out’ explains the Spanish newspaper and unless Chelsea get a goalkeeper within the next few days then they’ll miss the deadline, and Courtois will likely stay where he is.
That would lead Real Madrid to wait and then sign the Belgian international on a free transfer next summer.
