Tottenham were dominant against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, creating a host of chances and perhaps unfortunate to not score more than goals.
Dejan Kulusevski was pulling the strings for Ange Postecoglou’s side and also scored Spurs’ second goal, beating Andre Onana from close range. Brennan Johnson opened the scoring early on and it was Dominic Solanke who got the third.
Kulusevski spoke to ViaPlay after the result and said that the win at Old Trafford will kickstart Tottenham’s season, with the Lilywhites having endured an inconsistent campaign so far.
He said, as relayed by Göteborgs-Posten: “This feeling you have now, that is the one you want. That’s why you play football. We showed how good we are.”
The midfielder further said: “We have four straight (wins) now, and this is when our season really starts.”
The game was a reminder of how vital the ex-Juventus man is to Tottenham, being arguably one of their best performers so far this season.
He only has a goal and an assist to his name but Kulusevski has become someone who keeps Postecoglou’s side ticking from the heart of the park and in the final third.
If he stays fit and keeps contributing the way he is, Tottenham could be in line for a very good season. The man himself has sent the rallying cry out.
