For the past few weeks, it’s been all about Napoli for Kieran Trippier.
The Tottenham defender has been heavily linked with a move away from his current club in the upcoming transfer window, and while Manchester United or another English club would make the most sense, a move to Serie A appears to be a serious option for the 28-year-old.
Carlo Ancelotti admitted being interested in the Spurs right-back recently, and while that doesn’t mean he will definitely end up playing under the former Chelsea manager, it certainly proves the previous rumours were true.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday reveal Napoli aren’t the only Italian side looking at Trippier, as Inter are also after a player in his role are ‘monitoring his situation’.
They explain both Kalidou Koulibaly’s club and Juventus are also after the defender, but the nerrazzuri are preparing for an ‘auction’ and ‘want to be there until the very end’.
This comes despite their reported advanced talks with Manchester City’s Danilo, suggesting they might prefer Trippier over the Brazilian if they were given a choice.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes from all this, but it’s certainly gearing up to becoming one of the more prevalent stories of the next few months.
