Here’s one more club who have apparently pulled out of the race for Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes.
According to ESPN Brasil reporter André Plihal, São Paulo now have ‘zero’ chance of landing the 25-year-old in the January transfer window.
The journalist explained it in a tweet where he told the odds of each player the Tricolor may sign for the 2022 season. When speaking about Wesley, he simply says the possibilities are zero.
Many reports from Brazil had claimed that São Paulo were close to signing the striker, so it’s strange to see this information coming up now. Just yesterday, we also covered reports which said Corinthians and Palmeiras had given up on the player as well.
It was even claimed by one source that Palmeiras were worried about Wesley’s physical situation. The player had knee surgery last year, and despite being allegedly fit for the current season, he only made seven appearances following his recovery.
The striker is currently loaned to Belgian side Club Brugge, and was expected to break his spell there and move to Brazil looking for more playing time. Now from the four clubs who were linked to him in the past few weeks, three seem to have given up, with only Internacional left in the competition.
