It looks like the father of Rafael Camacho has decided it’s time for him to start talking about his son’s move away from Liverpool.

On Friday, Euclides Camacho had given an interview to newspaper Record, confirming that Sporting and Schalke 04 are both competing for the signing.

Now he has also spoken to Sportv, this time giving Sporting fans quite some hope of winning the race for the player.

“Sporting are very well positioned, we’ll see what happens next week,” Euclides Camacho told Sportv (via Record). “Interest has been expressed, but he has a contract with Liverpool. They’ve spoken to Liverpool and the club also have a say.

“He has to start doing it so he can explode once and for all. Let’s see if we can resolve this whole process by the end of next week.”

Record also reports that the talks between Lions and Reds have been going pretty well, and the Lisbon side don’t want to miss the opportunity of getting Camacho back.

With the player’s contract expiring next year, the fact that he’s turned down the offers to renew his deal are said to be putting ‘pressure’ on the Reds to sell, otherwise they could soon lose him for free.

It’s still claimed that Liverpool want 20% of a future sale and a buy-back clause included in the deal. Meanwhile, Sporting try to pay the lowest possible price.
