Just like in the past few transfer windows, the future of Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik continues being a hot topic in the Italian press.
This week, we’ve seen West Ham United pushed forward for his signing, with a €7m offer being reported by journalist Ciro Venerato.
That bid, however, was reportedly turned down, and the Hammers are expected to raise it if they want any chance to win this race.
Now in a new update, Venerato makes it clear West Ham are still alive in the competition, but points out there are strong suitors for the signing.
He was interviewed by Radio Kiss Kiss’ show Radio Goal, and claimed that Milik may actually be on his way to France.
“Milik can go to Olympique Marseille: the French side are a club where the Pole can land,” said the journalist (via Spazio Napoli).
“Napoli continue to ask for more than 9 million and there’s also a problem with the percentage of resale. There’s also a chance he’ll go to West Ham: a chance offered by the agent.”
With those previous claims regarding West Ham’s €7m offer, it seems the Hammers weren’t that far from a deal with Napoli. Now we shall see if there’s still time for the Premier League side to up their bid.
