Sabah claim Fenerbahce are close to signing Lucas Perez from Arsenal.

The Turkish club have been chasing Perez since the start of the transfer window, but their financial situation has forced them to wait until August.

After selling Simon Kjaer to Sevilla for €12.5m, the Fenerbahce board have now stepped up their pursuit to sign the Arsenal forward, and Sabah claim talks have been positive. Sabah have also reported Fenerbahce have agreed terms with Arsenal and the player.

It’s been well documented Perez would like to return to Spain to boost his 2018 World Cup chances, but Arsenal haven’t received the right proposal.

After his former club Deportivo La Coruna admitted defeat in signing him, Fenerbahce have become increasingly confident about landing the 29 year old.

The Turkish club’s manager Aykut Kocaman is reportedly a huge fan of Perez and will be delighted if the Spanish striker is in his team next season.

If Sabah are correct and terms have been agreed with club and player, then Perez may not get his La Liga dream return, but Kocaman could well get his Perez dream.
