Tottenham fans won’t be shocked to know the Portuguese press has a transfer story for them again on Thursday. We’ll give you only one clue: It’s not William Carvalho.
Ok, you got it, it’s Adrien Silva. And he’s linked to Tottenham once again.
In their 126th story about his future this summer (or something around that), A Bola managed to speak to the International CEO of Stellar Group, Artur Fernandes, who takes care of the midfielder’s career in Portugal.
The representative didn’t really want to say much about those who want Adrien, or mention Tottenham, but did say: “All clubs acknowledge him as a top player and I can say he is referenced by all European clubs. Now it’s a matter of market opportunity, which must be good for both the player and Sporting.”
A Bola recalls the player has been linked to many English clubs, but gives Mauricio Pochettino’s side a special mention, saying there’s been some ‘insistence’ on the Tottenham claims.
Sporting are said to be demanding €30m for the midfielder, and since he’s been left on the bench, it’s likely that he’ll be sold this summer.
It may soon become clear whether constant Tottenham links are genuinely because of strong interest, or rather the lack of it from elsewhere.
