Ianis Hagi is a regular topic of discussion in the Italian media as Lazio are interested in acquiring his services.
Genk, who own the player, allowed him to join Rangers on loan in January and they have an option to make his transfer permanent in the summer.
A week ago, La Lazio Siamo Noi explained the Serie A side contacted the 21-year-old’s camp to probe the possibility of a transfer and the Romanian’s entourage ‘immediately communicated’ the attacking midfielder’s willingness to join Lazio.
Another report from La Lazio Siamo Noi now claims that in recent days, there has been tension between Rangers and the entourage of the ex-Fiorentina man.
Hagi’s agents would prefer their client to return to Genk so that they can negotiate with potential suitors, including Lazio.
However, Steven Gerrard’s side have ‘decided to redeem the player’ by spending €5m, and they then plan to sell him for €15m or maybe a slightly lower fee.
This is deemed expensive by Lazio and other interested parties, especially after the Covid-19 crisis. Therefore, Simone Inzaghi’s side have put themselves in a ‘waiting position’, to understand what will happen with regards to Hagi’s future.
Lazio’s preference, according to the report, would be to negotiate with Genk as they believe a deal could be concluded for €7-8m.
