Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been linked to RB Leipzig before they sacked Marco Rose on March 30th.
These claims have intensified since then and this week’s edition of SportBild provides the latest.
The Bundesliga club have the Crystal Palace manager and Como’s Cesc Fàbregas on top of their list.
Leipzig and Red Bull group’s bosses held internal discussions and came with these two candidates as their priority targets.
It won’t be easy to snatch the Austrian or Fàbregas from the Eagles and the Serie A side respectively. They don’t have release clauses in their contracts and RB Leipzig must find an agreement with Crystal Palace or Como.
The newspaper states Leipzig will hold talks with Crystal Palace and Como in the ‘next few days’ for Glasner and the Spaniard respectively. The negotiations are likely to be tough, and a big fee is needed, with SportBild making no mention of any figures.
Leipzig appointed Zsolt Löw as the interim manager until the end of this season. His role could be made permanent if they don’t find any solution externally.
An earlier report from Bild had stated Crystal Palace would ask €20m for Glasner. They also reported the 50-year-old isn’t keen on leaving the Premier League, which SportBild haven’t taken into account.
Indeed, the media in Austria made it quite clear recently that Glasner wants to continue in English football.
