Three weeks or so ago, we covered claims from a couple of Italian journalists regarding Stefano Okaka’s future.

The Watford striker spent the second half of the season on loan at Udinese in Serie A, where he enjoyed himself, scoring six goals and picking up one assist in 16 appearances.

However, a stay was deemed ‘difficult’, yet that hasn’t stopped the Italian club from giving it a go, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

On Friday, the Italian newspaper explain there is ‘no guarantee’ the Watford player will be returning, despite talks taking place on the matter.

The deal being discussed is a loan, but, looking at the pessimism in the above words, it appears some difficulties have already been encountered.

If they cannot get anything done, then Udinese will have to find someone else to complete their attack for the 2019-20 campaign.

As for Watford, it seems unlikely Javi Gracia has a place in his squad for the 29-year-old, meaning a new landing spot will need to be found for Okaka, who is contracted at Vicarage Road until 2021.
