Baba Rahman’s loan move to Schalke has been something of a disaster.
The club haven’t been especially pleased with the player either on or off the pitch, and there hasn’t been a whole lot of the former.
The Chelsea owned defender has just 163 minutes in the Bundesligsa so far this season, and only a further 34 in the Champions League.
Earlier in the January transfer window it was reported Turkish club Goztepe were getting close to a loan, which would have seen his Schalke deal cancelled, and the Super Lig club made their interest public.
Now France looks the likeliest destination.
Foot Mercato journalist Sebastien Denis reports talks are ongoing to send the player to Reims, who are currently ninth in the Ligue 1 table.
The loan from Chelsea would be until the end of the season, and there’d be no purchase option.
Schalke’s loan would be cancelled, Rahman would be a Chelsea player again, before immediately moving to Reims.
