A few weeks ago, we covered a rather interesting story in Corriere dello Sport claiming that AC Milan were interested in Swansea’s Ki Sung-Yong.

Since then, there’s been an underlying acceptance in the Italian media that this could very well happen, as he would provide much needed backup for Franck Kessiè, and would be affordable as he would be arriving on a free.

The 29-year-old’s contract with Swansea runs out at the end of the season, and with no signs of the South Korea international putting pen to paper on a new one anytime soon, an exit from Liberty Stadium in a few months is very possible.

A lot could do with where Carlos Carvalhal’s side end in the league table, and another season in the Premier League could very well entice him to stay longer.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport over the weekend, explain that out of all the players whose contracts are running out in the summer, ‘the most probable’ to sign for AC Milan would be Ki Sung-Yong.

Whether that means he’s the most likely to want to come or that talks have already been initiated, we don’t know, but they seem pretty confident he’ll be arriving alongside Pepe Reina.
