AS Roma are interested in Alban Lafont, report L’Equipe.
The French newspaper say Lafont is gaining an increasing number of fans with the young goalkeeper impressing for Toulouse and showing that, at 19 years of age, he’s certainly one of the best European prospects in his position.
Lafont would likely cost more than €10m, so it’s unlikely Roma would be keen on him for anything other than first choice.
And why would Roma need a new goalkeeper? Well, if they sold Alission of course.
The Brazilian stopper has been strongly linked with Liverpool, and L’Equipe even namecheck Jurgen Klopp’s club as a reason for Roma’s Lafont interest.
It’s stated Alission could be sold this summer, with Liverpool picked out as the only named possible destination.
Despite Klopp’s fondness for Loris Karius, it’s got to be considered likely Liverpool could do with a top level goalkeeper.
Alisson has shown he can be that, and Roma looking at other goalkeeper business makes it very clear indeed that they’re planning for a possible sale.
