Swansea City could soon sign Italian attacker Fabio Borini, according to rclaims from his home country today.
Website Tutto Mercato Web reports the 29-year-old ‘thinks’ of signing either for the Championship side or Hellas Verona soon.
Even though the transfer window is closed, Borini is allowed to join a new club as he’s been a free agent since his contract with the very same Hellas Verona expired.
Now it seems the player has the chance to return to his previous club or try one more challenge in the UK.
Besides being remembered for his time at Chelsea, Sunderland and Liverpool, Borini also featured for Swansea City for a few months on a loan from the Blues in 2011, when he managed six goals in 12 appearances.
In an interview with Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport last month, Borini explained he’d been training in a park in Merseyside, and he hinted that both Everton and Liverpool refused him the chance to use their facilities, which was likely related to the clubs’ Covid-19 bubbles.
Swansea City have been linked for a while, and this one shouldn’t drag on much further.
