Now that Sunderland are relegated, an exodus of players is to be expected as the club both try to balance their books and let players who don’t want to play in the Championship go.

One of those is likely to be Jordan Pickford, who has, despite his club’s struggles, impressed quite a lot of Premier League sides over the course of the season.

This means that David Moyes and Sunderland are going to need a new starting goalkeeper for their season in England’s second-tier, and they could get one on a free.

Téléfoot on Sunday in France reveal the Black Cats are interested in Bordeaux’s 35-year-old goalkeeper Cédric Carrasso.

Already keen on his services last summer, Sunderland have a better chance of signing this time around as the Ligue 1 club have announced they will not be renewing the veteran’s contract at the end of the season.

Carrasso made 23 appearances for Bordeaux in Ligue 1 this season, conceding just 21 goals and keeping nine clean sheets.
