Carlo Ancelotti may make a move for Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski once he becomes Everton manager.
The Italian boss is nearing closer to being confirmed as the new Everton manager, with reports today suggesting an announcement could be made on Monday.
He will arrive at Everton with the January transfer window just around the corner, and Milan News think one of his former Napoli players could be at the top of his wishlist.
According to the website, Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski is a target for Ancelotti, who has a ‘decent budget’ to work with at his new club.
An official offer for the midfielder ‘should arrive’ in the next few weeks, although there is no mention of what this bid from Everton may look like.
There is also no mention of whether Napoli would be willing to part with Zielinski, who has started all but two of their games in the league this season.
The original story appears to have to come from CalcioMercato.it who speculated that the Poland international ‘could represent one of the requests’ for Ancelotti, ‘even if it is difficult to see him leave Napoli in January’.
That suggests it’s unlikely that Zielinski will be following his former manager to Goodison Park any time soon, and any links are pure speculation at this point.
