Ajax star Antony has been included in Manchester United’s summer target list, if various reports are to be believed.
The Red Devils are looking at the 22-year-old mainly because of their manager, Erik ten Hag, who coached the winger at the Amsterdam club.
Ajax are close to completing a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Steven Bergwijn and are also working to bring RB Leipzig’s Brian Brobbey back to the club.
Bergwijn can operate across all positions up front, including as a centre forward. Ajax want Brobbey, who also can be used on the wings, to take the No.9 position.
That’s according to Algemeen Dagblad, who add Antony’s potential exit could from the club can leave a vacant place in the wide positions.
Manchester United are looking at him, but the Brazil international will likely have to wait.
That’s because United don’t see a reason to make a concrete attempt now for the player, who is yet to regain full fitness from the ankle injury he suffered at the end of March.
In addition to this, Ajax are demanding €80m for the South American.
Antony is expected to return to action in August, hence the suggestion is Manchester United see no reason to rush, especially given the current asking price is so high.
