Everton remain keen on Juventus defender Merih Demiral and may have even made an offer for him already.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the Italian side are ‘examining offers’ for the Turkish defender.
Demiral has long been linked with a move to Goodison Park, with reports over the last year or so indicating that Everton are keen on him.
Those rumours have been revived this summer as Juventus are determined to sell Demiral to get him off the wage bill and raise funds for their own transfer business.
Gazzetta now report that Juventus are ‘examining offers’ for Demiral and add that he is ‘liked’ by Everton and Atalanta, who are in the search of a replacement for Cristian Romero should he leave.
It’s not made clear who has made offers for Demiral that Juventus are evaluating, but they only name Everton and Atalanta, so it would be safe to assume it was at least one of those two, if not both, who did so.
The nature of the bids on the table or anything of that nature isn’t mentioned, so we’ll have to wait for those details to emerge at some point.
What we do know is that Everton remain interested, with Demiral among a growing list of centre backs they seem keen on this summer.
