Romelu Lukaku potentially moving to Chelsea continues to be the biggest story in Italian football.
There’s various stances on the issue, with some feeling the sale would be sensible to solve Inter Milan’s finances, and others, particularly fans of the Serie A champions, feeling such a move would be inexplicable and see Inter downsizing as a football club.
On Twitter, where fans often go to vent their anger, #LukakuNonSiTocca is a hashtag being used by Inter supporters, and it means that the striker should be untouchable.
In terms of transfer fee, there’s a widespread assumption that should Chelsea reach €120-130m then Inter will be tempted to sell, and the final decision will be down to the player.
Tuttosport suggest the Blues could use Timo Werner in a deal, and they believe he’s valued around €40m. There’s no indication on whether the Italians would be keen on signing the Germany international.
Werner moved to Chelsea in the summer 2020 transfer window, and had difficult spells during his first season with the club. Despite a lot of negativity around his first campaign, the 25-year-old still managed to score 12 goals and add a further 15 assists.
