Bild on Monday suggest Tottenham Hotspur are in the mix for RB Leipzig star Péter Gulácsi.
The goalkeeper has starred for the Bundesliga side this season, keeping 15 clean sheets and conceding 25 goals in 31 matches.
His current deal runs down in 2023 and he can leave the German club for a fixed release clause of €13m. Bild labels this figure a ‘ridiculous price’.
Markus Krösche stepped down as the club’s sporting director in April and he had made comments about the Hungary international before he resigned.
“Peter knows what he has in us. And we know what we have in him. I see no reason that he wants to change,” he said.
According to the report, Krösche downplaying the possibility of a summer move sounds like a lack of appreciation towards Gulácsi and, his quotes weren’t well received.
The 30-year-old and his wife, Diána, welcomed their second child last September. It’s claimed Gulácsi is a ‘family man’ and pays great attention to their needs. Therefore, it should be clarified in the summer as to where he and his family will be based for the next few years.
Bild name Spurs, along with AS Roma and Borussia Dortmund, as three sides want to strengthen their goalkeeping position in the upcoming window, and are ‘ready to invest a lot of money’.
Hugo Lloris, 34, is the first choice keeper at the north London club and has a contract with the English side expiring in 2022.
The report doesn’t categorically mention whether Tottenham and other two sides have any interest in Gulácsi.
