Earlier on Wednesday, we covered a story from Tuttosport claiming that Torino in Italy were interested in Watford’s Roberto Pereyra.
The Hornets’ inability to clinch a Europa League spot by winning the FA Cup final could work in the Serie A club’s favour, who could still qualify for the competition if Milan get banned by FFP.
Either way, that argument is still pending, but what isn’t is Walter Mazzarri’s presence in Turin, a manager the playmaker likes and has already worked under.
Unfortunately for the Italian club, there’s also the whole negotiating with Watford part, and that isn’t going to be easy, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Italian website claim the Hornets are asking for €30m for the Argentine midfielder, which has caused a ‘sudden brake’ in any potential deal.
A qualification for Europe would certainly help them a lot, especially financially with extra TV rights money coming their way.
Even then, €30m is a big ask for a club of Torino’s size, as their most expensive purchase to date remains £10.8m on Simone Zaza.
