A Galatasaray move for Lucas Leiva is once again being reported in the Turkish media. NTVspor say that those in charge of transfers at Galatasaray have held a round of successful talks with their counterparts at Liverpool.
The result of the discussions will see Lucas sign a contract with Galatasaray this week. The Brazilian midfielder will travel to Istanbul for medical checks and, should those throw up no problems, a transfer can be completed.
NTVspor say the transfer will be for a fee in the region of €3m. Lucas is 29 years of age, and only has a year left on his current Liverpool deal. Still, €3m seems a good price for Galatasaray, but they’ll no doubt be paying Lucas high wages.
If the transfer is successful it will show that the recent trouble in Turkey, and a failed coup attempt, haven’t been enough to completely put footballers off making the move.
