Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a claim that West Ham United were one of the clubs looking at potentially signing Boulaye Dia from Salernitana this month.
The need for a new striker seems to be once again an issue for the Hammers, and the Senegal international, who was stopped from moving to the Premier League late in the summer, is a target.
The good news, at least according to what Calcio Salernitana are reporting on Tuesday, is that Dia appears to have a preference for West Ham.
While he is currently in Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations, it’s pointed out that a long-distance face-to-face meeting could take place between Walter Sabatini and the striker’s entourage in order to ‘speed up’ a potential exit.
As for Dia himself, it’s said that he ‘hopes for an insertion’ of West Ham in the race, which this morning’s article suggests they are very much thinking of doing.
