Liverpool fans are just about getting over Nabil Fekir, and now his agent has dropped a big hint the deal could still be on.
After everything seemed so close, the Lyon player’s move to Anfield collapsed at the last minute. There were different claims on the English and French sides of a deal about what really went on but there still remains an element of mystery.
On France’s LCI on Monday night, as covered by Foot Mercato, Jean-Pierre Bernès, presented as Fekir’s agent, was asked about the failed Liverpool transfer: “Fekir? He didn’t sign because… it’s not over. The story isn’t over, you’ll see!”
Foot Mercato say Bernès was smiling as he spoke, and it’s claimed talks are continuing between Fekir’s entourage and Liverpool.
There’s nothing further on that, and Foot Mercato choose not to speculate about the reason the transfer didn’t happen first time, they just point out there was a lot of talk in England of medical problems.
Over in France, in the initial reaction, it was claimed there was a problem with the actual agreement, and some parties weren’t satisfied.
