Manchester United have completed the signing of Diogo Dalot as the 19-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from FC Porto this summer. The Portuguese defender is primarily a right-back, but can also play as a left-back as well.

Jose Mourinho has the services of his compatriot, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian as right-backs in the squad. That has not stopped the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager in identifying another player in the same position, if the reports are to be believed.

The Portuguese tactician is currently working as a pundit for Russia Today at the ongoing World Cup. According to Spanish newspaper AS claims, the United manager watched Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko in action during Croatia’s 2-0 victory over Nigeria.

He played the full 90 minutes for his national side and Mourinho “likes” Vrsaljko. AS reports Atletico “will listen to offers” for the 26-year-old as they are open to the idea of allowing the Croatian international leave the club this summer.

Vrsaljko registered four assists in 21 La Liga appearances for Diego Simeone’s side last season.

This one seems based almost entirely on Mourinho working for RT and watching a game, and if each match the Manchester United manager works on is going to bring a new target, then we’re in for a long summer.
