IFK Norrkoping defender Linus Wahlqvist has been linked with a potential move in the January transfer window, with Stoke City in contention to sign the youngster. The 20-year-old has impressed for the Swedish side last season, and has also caught the attention of Leeds United.
Wahlqvist was previously linked with a move to Stoke City earlier in the year in the Swedish media, but it was also reported they faced competition from Leeds United.
In November we covered reports from Sweden that Leeds United were interested in Wahlqvist, along with Stoke City. It was claimed at the time Leeds United were preparing a bid for the youngster, and may look to move in on the player in January.
Garry Monk could look to strengthen in the fullback positions after the club sold Sam Byram to West Ham United 12 months ago, and Wahlqvist is an option.
However, the two English sides will need to convince his club to sell him given he still has two years left on his contract. The youngster is highly rated in his home country and has been compared to former Liverpool defender Glenn Hysen.
