According to claims in the Belgian media, Bjorn Engels could be playing his last game for Club Brugge tonight.
The central defender has been linked with a move to Stoke City this week, but the Premier League side could face competition from Serie A.
Voetbal Nieuws have today reported Engels could be saying his good byes to the Brugge fans tonight, when the Belgian side take on AEK Athens in the Europa League play offs.
Brugge sporting director Vincent Mannaert has said speculation about Engels leaving won’t go away, and Voetbal Nieuws have again reported Stoke City’s interest in the 22 year old.
Yesterday we covered reports from Belgium that Stoke City have already contacted Engels’ agent to discuss a transfer to England.
The player has in recent seasons been linked with a move to the Premier League, with claims the Belgium U21 international would be open to a move to the English top flight.
However, Stoke City could face competition from Sampdoria, who’ve now registered their interest in Engels. Voetbal Niewus have reported on claims from the Italian media, which say the Serie A side are strong candidates to land the youngster.
