Bologna have long been an admirer of West Ham United’s Pedro Obiang.
On July 16th, we carried a report from Corriere dello Sport, who explained the Serie A side need the Hammers to reduce the 27-year-old’s asking price.
Later that day, we cover claims from Italy that suggested Sassuolo have joined the transfer race for the Equatorial Guinea international and even submitted a €9m offer for the midfielder.
Though it was explained there is ‘optimism’ the deal could be concluded, there was no indication to suggest if Manuel Pellegrini’s side had accepted the proposal from Sassuolo.
Tutto Mercato Web also claims Sassuolo have submitted a €9m bid for the player and they further go on to mention that a deal is ‘very close’ to being completed.
It’s claimed that Obiang is ‘a step away’ from joining Sassuolo and there could be a ‘white smoke’ soon.
Obiang still has three years left on his contract at the London Stadium and TMW sound confident West Ham will agree to the offer tabled by Sassuolo.
