As Chelsea clearly want Romelu Lukaku sold at the end of the season, they should be excited with what he’s been showing for AS Roma and Belgium lately.
Corriere Della Sera, relayed by Tutto AS Roma, today feature a story showing the player has one goal in every 96 minutes on the pitch this season.
‘We start from 1-0’, the story claims, showing the Giallorossi have a good reason to smile after the €5m they spent to sign him on loan from Chelsea.
The report points out the deal between the clubs has ‘only one problem’, which is Lukaku’s return to Chelsea in June.
It’s claimed that during the talks for his move to Roma, his agent managed to agree with Chelsea that €43m will be enough to buy him in the future, so he ‘already has a price’, despite how high that is.
The story claims that even though his goals can take Roma to the Champions League next season, his form may ‘also tempt other clubs’.
That’s unlikely to include Inter Milan, though, with there still a lot of anger there over how Lukaku conducted himself during the summer.
