On November 1st, Takvim stated Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are both expected to make moves for Arsenal’s Thomas Partey in the winter market.
The midfielder has struggled with multiple injuries this season and is currently on the sidelines with a thigh injury. This has seen him settle for only five appearances.
Partey’s situation at Arsenal hasn’t stopped the Turkish champions from identifying him as a target for January. That’s according to Sabah, who state the 30-year-old and Al-Nassr’s Marcelo Brozović as the two ‘star candidates’.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has requested his leaders sign a new midfielder next month after summer signing Tanguy Ndombélé failed to convince.
The Frenchman is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and the newspaper explains that he has ‘exhausted his credit’ due to weight problems and failing to impress on the pitch.
Both the Arsenal player and Brozović are the main candidates and it’s said the Istanbul club will start negotiations ‘as soon as possible’ after evaluating their fitness and the finances conditions needed to carry out a deal.
Partey has suffered multiple injuries since he joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020.
