Turkish newspaper Takvim claim Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli is interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen next summer.
The 32 year old will be out of contract at the end of the season and will be free to speak with foreign clubs in the new year with regards to a pre-contract agreement.
Former Tottenham sporting director Comolli, who reportedly still has connections with the North London club, is eager to use those ties to sign the former Ajax player.
Vertonghen has remained a regular for Tottenham, but Mauricio Pochettino has Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth among his other options.
The Belgian defender missed the 1-1 draw with Everton due to injury.
Takvim claim Fenerbahce are eager to bring Vertonghen to the Ulker Stadium for next season and Comolli will soon open talks with Vthe player’s representatives with regards to a move to Istanbul.
