Spain’s El Correo believe Vicente Iborra could be returning to Sevilla this summer.

Leicester City signed the midfielder last summer and he made 26 appearances in total during his first season with the Foxes.

When he left the Spanish club, Iborra gave a press conference and said: “I haven’t come to say goodbye; just to say see you later. I leave what I consider to be my house, my friends, but I know I’ll be back.”

El Correo publish that quote and then state: ‘That return that Iborra spoke of could be close, although the operation is not easy.’

On Sevilla’s side in any negotiations is the ‘close relationship’ between the player and his former club. The negatives are that Leicester paid an initial fee of €13m, according to El Correo, and Iborra now has a better contract than he was on at Sevilla.

The Spanish publication believe a lot will come down to Claude Puel’s plans, with them feeling Leicester are overloaded with midfielders right now.

Sevilla know their former captain’s situation ‘perfectly’ and have moved to learn the possibilities of the transfer.

Judging from Sevilla’s previous market activity in recent years, they’d probably want a loan move and a buying clause.
