When Premier League clubs are reported to have watched a 17-year-old play football, unless that 17-year-old has played in the first-team, it’s hard for us to tell you much about him.

Unfortunately, this is what we’re dealing with on Friday after Foot Mercato in France reported that both Southampton and Stoke have been keeping an eye on Paris FC forward Ruben Kokolo.

Seeing as he’s currently playing for the U19s of a Ligue 2 side, we don’t really know what he’s capable of doing, but if the Saints and the Potters are interested, there’s clearly something there.

The youngster has yet to make a first-team appearance for the capital based side, and there’s very little information going around about his contract, considering Transfermarkt still have him playing for Caen.

Foot Mercato do, however, let us know that both Southampton and Stoke ‘appreciated’ what they saw, suggesting they could come back again to keep track of his progress in the future.

Whether that will turn into something else, that isn’t said, but we’ll file this in the archives and hopefully be able to come back to it down the line.
