Southampton allowed Guido Carrillo to spend the last season on loan at Leganes and he finished the previous campaign with six goals and an assist.

The La Liga side are interested in signing the striker once again and on August 14th, we carried a report from AS, who explained the 28-year-old is a ‘goal’ for Leganes.

A day later, Marca explained the Argentine is an ‘express request’ of Mauricio Pellegrino, who plans to reunite with his former player yet again.

With two weeks left in the transfer window in Spain, AS claim Leganes are in the market to strengthen their attack and the Saints player is the ‘main objective’, but doesn’t provide any other details regarding Carrillo.

The Spanish side suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Osasuna in the first fixture of the new campaign and after the tie, Pellegrino admitted it would be difficult for his side to sign Carrillo.

“The possibilities of bringing Guido Carrillo remain difficult at this time. The economic possibilities make the operation very difficult,” Mundo Deportivo quoted Pellegrino as saying.
