Argentine outlet TNT Sports today brings an update on the situation of Southampton striker Guido Carrillo.
With Boca Juniors willing to sign the 28-year-old, it’s claimed that this transfer mission has got a little easier for the Buenos Aires side.
TNT reports that Southampton first wanted to make at least US$10m with the player. But they’ve now decreased their demands, and would be fine selling him for between US$5m and US$7m.
One of the reasons is that Carrillo’s contract with Southampton expires in 2021, so the club must avoid losing him for free next year.
It’s said that Boca Juniors ‘don’t see with bad eyes’ the chance of signing the striker, especially because he’s only 28 and could be their star for many years to come.
Carrillo has spent the past two years on loan at La Liga side Leganes. This season, he has four goals and two assists in 23 appearances for the Spanish club.
