On Thursday morning, Catalan outlet Sport broke the news Manchester United are signing the Barcelona youngster Marc Jurado.

It’s been claimed that after failed negotiations to extend his contract with the Camp Nou side, the 16-year-old has decided to move to the English giants.

These claims are now backed up by ESPN Deportes, who bring their own take on the situation.

They say ‘different sources’ have confirmed to them that the player has decided not to renew his contract with Barça, and is on his way to the Red Devils.

One of their sources said Jurado recently received a ‘tasty’ offer from Barcelona for him to renew for three years. He’d make €60k in the first year, €80k in the second and €100k in the third. He’d also get a bonus of €200k if making his debut for the first team.

He’s said to be one of the players who Barcelona wanted to keep control of, but that wasn’t enough to convince him to stay.

ESPN credits Sport to say Manchester United are paying Barcelona €200k for the youngster, even though the original story didn’t mention that.
