Italian outlet Calcio Mercato features a piece today on Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg, who’s being followed by several European sides.
With an impressive season for the Serie A side, the Sweden international scored a brace against Spezia at the weekend, and that seems to be drawing attention from some clubs.
Premier League side Southampton are named as one of the contenders for the signing, although they should be aware of the big competition.
The Saints would be entering a race which includes the likes of Inter Milan, Leicester City and AC Milan, with the player being ‘ready to answer’ to the call from those clubs.
Milan seem to be the club leading the race. Calcio Mercato says the Rossoneri started the talks for Svanberg in January, and following the good form he’s been keeping up, they should now go for his signing once again.
Bologna spent €4.5m to sign the midfielder from Malmo. Now it’d cost €20m for Southampton or any others to take him away from the Serie A side.
