Earlier on Monday, we covered a claim from Spain that Sergio Agüero was getting closer to a move to Barcelona.

The Argentine forward will leave Manchester City at the end of the season when his contract runs out, and Betevé in Catalonia reported the deal was ‘imminent’ following the player’s lawyers receiving a ‘draft of the contract’ offered by the La Liga side.

It was said everyone was ‘very optimistic’ about the move, one that would see the striker potentially reunited with Lionel Messi, this time at club level.

TyC in Argentina back all this up, claiming Agüero is ‘very close’ to swapping the Etihad for Camp Nou ‘after intense negotiations that took place in recent days’.

Barcelona saw the chance to sign the former Atlético Madrid star ‘as an opportunity to seize’, putting a ‘two-year contract on the table’ before ‘seeking a definitive response’ from the player.

They believe ‘the future of Kun could be defined in the next few days’, and it seems we could once again see the forward in La Liga, where he first made a name for himself.
