Everton’s chase for Boca Juniors left-back Frank Fabra continues to be a big deal in South America, where there’s a belief the transfer could happen in the summer.
On Wednesday, Argentine newspaper Olé has a story about the situation, with some very interesting quotes from Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici confirming contacts from the Toffees.
“It is true that there were meetings with Everton. The priority is the sport, but if a formal offer arrives we will analyse it,” said the club president, claiming that Boca want to make sure that the player goes to the right place, and doesn’t only leave for money.
Olé writes that Everton would be prepared to offer up to €5m for the player. Napoli, who are also in the race, would have the conditions to put these figures up, even though Boca Juniors are still to receive an official offer for the 27-year-old.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness had a chat with Fabra’s agent José Constanzo.
Even though the representative confirmed the player’s wish to make a Premier League move this summer, he claimed there had been no talks between him and any club.
