Chelsea have lost patience with Luis Enrique, report Sport, and are looking towards other candidates for their expected managerial vacancy.
Catalan newspaper Sport goes over the widely held assumption Antonio Conte will be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, and it’s explained former Barcelona manager Enrique was a top candidate.
But Enrique holding off on committing to Chelsea has left the Premier League club a little annoyed. Sport claim the club’s owner Roman Abramovich has ‘lost patience’ with Enrique and is now more interested in trying to get Massimo Allgeri from Juventus.
Marina Granovskaia had ‘practically closed an agreement’ for Enrique to take over from Conte, as had been reported in Spain some months ago, but the manager started stalling when he heard of potential interest from PSG.
The job in Paris may be more attractive to Enrique at this stage of his career, as it comes without the very hard test of the Premier League and a genuine yearly battle to get in the top four, never mind winning the title.
