Fred has been a regular figure in Manchester United’s starting XI in all competitions this season.
Fichajes.net state Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not convinced the Red Devils can compete for silverware with the Brazilian starting in the midfield.
This, coupled with Paul Pogba’s uncertain future, has seen the Old Trafford club look for a new midfielder in the market.
It’s claimed the former Cardiff City manager ‘asks’ United to sign Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanić in the summer.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has struggled under Ronald Koeman in his debut season at the Camp Nou. He no longer fits into the Dutchman’s plans and ‘everything seems to indicate’ he will leave the La Liga side after this campaign.
As per the report, Manchester United will make an offer for the former Juventus man since he ‘fits perfectly’ into Solskjaer’s plans. The Norwegian likes Pjanić, and believes he can play alongside Scott McTominay in his side’s midfield.
With Pjanić struggling at Barca, he is expected to leave the Spanish club and for now, everything seems to indicate his ‘destiny is in England’.
It’s worth noting this report is based on the possibility that Pogba would leave United in the summer. The Frenchman has over a year left on his contract and if he signs an extension, Solskjaer’s side are likely to abandon the idea of taking Pjanić.
