In February, we relayed news from Spain that claimed Manchester City are ‘clear favourites’ to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.
Since then, the reports linking the midfielder with a move to the Etihad have cooled.
Saturday’s edition of L’Equipe also explains the Premier League winners have been ‘silent for months’ in the chase for the 22 year old.
However, that no longer seems to be case as the French newspaper states Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘resurfaced’ in the race to sign the highly rated midfielder.
There are no further details mentioned in the report regarding Manchester City’s efforts to sign Ndombele.
It must also be noted the Ligue 1 side’s president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed on April 30th that Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and the English champions are all interested in the midfielder.
There’s no claim of an offer yet from City, and it’s quite possible Guardiola is prioritising Rodri over the Frenchman.
L’Equipe are clearly keen to talk up Ndombele interest, and made be pushing things further than they have solid information on.
