According to Scouting Team, Sheffield Wednesday have signed Lokomotiv Plovdiv forward Eyad Hammoud. The youngster will turn 16 years of age next month, and subsequently he’s able to sign a professional contract with the Owls.
In the past year, with the help of Scouting Team, Hammoud has been monitored by Sheffield Wednesday, and it seems the Championship side have been impressed with what they’ve seen.
In March we covered reports Sheffield Wednesday entered into talks to sign the young Bulgarian, and those talks have led to the player signing for two years.
It’s likely Hammoud will be placed into Sheffield Wednesday’s youth academy to continue his development, rather than be involved with Carlos Carvalhal’s senior squad.
Last year Hammoud made his senior debut for Lokomotiv Plovdiv, and in doing so became the second youngest player to play in the Bulgarian top flight. On his debut the young forward provided an assist in his side’s win, and went on to make another three appearances for the club.
Hammoud has represented Bulgaria at youth level.
