It is no exaggeration to say that Deniz Undav is currently one of the biggest stars of German football. Since arriving at VfB Stuttgart on loan in the summer window, the forward has put his Brighton & Hove Albion woes behind him and is increasingly winning new fans.

Bild report that after scoring eight goals in his first ten Bundesliga games, Undav has ‘set a new club record’. His latest strike came against Werder Bremen at the weekend, and that was especially pleasing for Undaz as the club rejected him as a youngster.

Speaking to Bild, the still Brighton owned player explained that he had multiple family members in the crowd for the match, given he grew up locally. That was added motivation, as is the German national team, with demands he’s called up only growing in recent days.

Last week, we covered a report from Germany which stated Stuttgart are thrilled they can sign the player for just €12m, due to the purchase clause they agreed in the loan.

That would be very cheap for a German international, and it looks like Brighton set it a bit too low.
